This yooperlite knife is carved and polished into a ritual athame shape, with a leaf-shaped blade, a ringed guard and a slim handle. In daylight it shows speckled gray, black and peach tones. Under a UV flashlight, bright orange sparks light up across the blade. At about 150mm long it feels balanced in the hand, and it makes a dramatic accent for an altar, shelf or collection.

Chakra Connection
In crystal tradition, yooperlite is linked to the Sacral Chakra and the Solar Plexus Chakra, where its hidden inner fire is tied to creativity, motivation and confidence. Many people see it as a symbol of the light we carry inside, even when it is not visible to others. The athame, or ritual knife, is a traditional symbol of will, focus and clearing away what no longer serves, used to direct energy rather than to cut. How to Use

- Use it to trace a circle or point direction during ritual and intention work.
- Pair it with black obsidian for a protective altar set; see our obsidian collection.
- Display it on a small stand and reveal the glow with a UV flashlight for guests.
- Give it to a witchy friend, a fantasy fan or a collector; it makes a memorable Halloween or birthday gift.
Crystal Care
Yooperlite is a fairly durable stone, around 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale, but carved details and points can chip if dropped. Dust it with a soft cloth, or rinse it briefly in lukewarm water and dry it right away. Avoid harsh cleaners. To see the glow, use a longwave UV flashlight in a dark room. FAQs
Does it really glow?
Yes. The sodalite in yooperlite fluoresces orange to yellow under longwave UV light, usually around 365nm. In normal light it looks speckled gray. A UV flashlight is not included.
Is it natural yooperlite?
Yes. It is natural syenite with fluorescent sodalite. The glow is a natural mineral property, not paint or a coating.
How big is it?
It measures about 150mm long, as shown on the sizing photo, comfortable to hold and easy to display.
Is it sharp?
No. It is a decorative carving with a rounded blade shape, made for ritual and display, not for cutting.
Is it a good gift?
Yes. The glowing reveal makes it unforgettable, and the athame shape is meaningful for anyone with a spiritual practice.
What Is Yooperlite?
Yooperlite is the trade name for a gray syenite rock rich in fluorescent sodalite. It became famous after glowing stones were found on the Lake Superior shoreline of Michigan in 2017, and similar material, often called flame stone, is now also mined elsewhere and cut into carvings and shapes. In daylight it looks like speckled gray granite. Under longwave UV light, the sodalite lights up in bright orange and yellow, which is the easiest way to tell it apart from ordinary gray stone. Its speckled body takes a good polish, which makes it popular for carvings like this athame. Discover more in our yooperlite collection.
