Yooperlite Crystals

Yooperlite looks like an ordinary gray stone until you shine a UV flashlight on it. Then it lights up with swirls of fiery orange and yellow, like glowing embers trapped inside the rock. The glow comes from fluorescent sodalite, and the name comes from Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where glowing stones were found on the shores of Lake Superior in 2017.

Our Yooperlite collection includes spheres, hearts, palm stones and fun carvings like skulls, a T-Rex skull, a gargoyle and a lion. Every piece has its own glowing pattern, so no two look the same under UV light.

See it glow: use a longwave 365nm UV flashlight in a dark room for the brightest glow. Our Mini 365nm UV Flashlight fits in a pocket, and the High Power 365nm UV Flashlight lights up bigger pieces.

Why people love it: Yooperlite is a reminder that something wonderful can be hiding in plain sight. Crystal lovers keep it for intuition, hidden potential and pure joy, and it makes one of the most memorable gifts you can give. Pair a sphere or carving with a UV flashlight and watch their face light up as much as the stone.
