It is a natural raw piece with real weight in the hand, made for collectors, curious minds and anyone who loves a crystal with a hidden side.

Chakra Connection

In crystal tradition, fluorite is linked with the Third Eye Chakra and the Crown Chakra, and darker fluorites are often used for grounding as well. It is known as a stone of mental order, believed to help sort scattered thoughts and support clear decisions. Black Rose Fluorite adds a sense of mystery: its dark daytime face and brilliant UV glow are often read as a reminder that clarity can be hiding just below the surface. Raw, unpolished forms are traditionally valued for keeping the stone's natural energy intact. Explore more stones like it in our Focus and Concentration and Purification and Cleansing collections.

How to Use

  • Keep it on your desk or study shelf as a calm, focused presence while you work or read.
  • Show it off at night: dim the lights, shine a 365nm UV flashlight across it and watch the red and violet bands appear.
  • Pair it with amethyst for a meditation corner centered on clarity and calm.
  • Display it in a curio cabinet or on a small stand where both its dark crystal faces and its glow can be enjoyed.
  • Give it to a mineral collector, a science lover or a teen discovering crystals. It makes a memorable birthday or holiday gift that is fun to unwrap.

Crystal Care

Fluorite is a soft mineral, about 4 on the Mohs scale, and it can chip or scratch if knocked against harder stones. Store it on its own or wrapped in a soft cloth. Dust it with a dry brush and avoid soaking it or using salt, which can dull the surface. Keep it out of strong direct sunlight for long periods, since some fluorite can fade over time. Our guide to crystals you should keep out of sunlight explains why.

FAQs

Is this real fluorite, and is the glow natural?

Yes. This is a natural fluorite specimen, and its fluorescence comes from trace elements locked inside the crystal as it formed. Nothing is painted or coated. The strength and colors of the glow vary between pieces, which is part of the fun of owning one.

What do I need to see it glow?

A UV flashlight, ideally a 365nm longwave light, gives the brightest result in a dark room. Cheaper 395nm lights also work but show a weaker, more purple glow. The flashlight in the photos is not included.

How big is it in the hand?

The 100-200g pieces fit comfortably in one palm, while the 200-300g pieces are fuller display specimens about the size of a large fist. Overall, expect roughly 75-110mm across and 80-120mm tall.

Will mine look exactly like the photos?

Each specimen is natural, so the shape, crystal faces and glow pattern will differ from the photos. You will receive a piece from the same lot with the same character and within your chosen weight range.

Is it a good gift?

It is a great one, especially for people who love science and surprises. Pair it with a small UV flashlight and you have a gift that gets passed around the room and kept for years.

What Is Black Rose Fluorite?

Fluorite is calcium fluoride, a mineral that grows in cubes and layered masses in an amazing range of colors. The word fluorescence was actually named after it. Black Rose Fluorite is a trade name for very dark fluorite whose stacked, petal-like crystal layers recall the shape of a rose. Under ordinary light it reads as black or deep smoky purple, but under UV light certain growth zones glow red, violet and blue. It is softer than quartz and should not be confused with black obsidian or tourmaline, which do not fluoresce this way.
